Saying your name shouldn't be a problem; if you want to actually say "my name is ______" then you want to say "Watashi no namae wa ______ desu". (wah tah shee no nah mah eh wah ____ dess) how you say your name kind of depends. If your name has an "L" in it, you'll need to replace it with an "R" sound (Ra, Re, Ri, Ro or Ru) because the Japanese language doesn't have an "L" character or sound. However, sometimes the way people say the "R" sound with sound like an "L", so smetimes it will sound like your name. But if you really need help saying your name, what you could do is separate each syllable in your name. I'll use mine as an example: And-re-a My name has three syllables. Now, since the Japanese language says things differently, if you told them your name in English, they might say my name in a Japanese accent. Also, you need to use sounds that there are actually characters for. For example, if I wanted to write my name in Hirgagana as it is now, it would look like this: あんりあ。 The symbols (in case you can't read Hiragana) say "An-ri-a", because there is no "D" sound in the characters other than "Do, De, Di, Du, and Da". So if I were to transfer my name so I could properly write my name in Hiragana, I would have to transfer it so it had sounds of the actual alphabet: A- n-do-ri-a Now I can properly write my name in hiragana so someone who spoke Japanese could read/say it easily: あんどりあ See? :) If you really have trouble converting your name, there's a website that you can go to that does the work for you; http://japanesetranslator.co.uk/dictionaries/your-name-in-japanese/
