What is ekelekua I have this question for my Spanish class and the assignment is about the band Las Orishas It might be a typo and mean ekolekua but I can't find the definition anywhere?

You didn't even Google this first. If you had, you would have found the website available at the link below. At that website - a blog - it says the following: "Ekele Kua es una expresión afrocubana que significa´así mismo es", o por lo menos ése es el uso que le conozco desde que nací. Si viene del idioma yoruba o del mandinga no me resulta demasiado importante, dejo esas precisiones para los estudiosos de las lenguas. Yo más que estudiarlas, las practico."

Very Cuban expression of. West African origin. That's all I know.

I am Cuban American that grew up

In a very ethnic/ Hispanic area- that's how I heard it used. It is said to be of very old language an origin- but not sure. I am not a linguist. I have enough problems speaking English and/ or Spanish
