Chapter one: In chapter one of Donde esta Eduardo, Carmen is out of school for the summer. The book continues to talk about how perfect her life is and how her work at McDonald's isn't bad. Then Carmen gets a call from her friend Stacy saying that she should come over to Stacy's house to listen to a new CD. Before she gets out of the house she is stopped by her mom, asking where she is going. Her mom then tells her that she needs to baby sit her friend's son Eduardo on a plane to Costa Rico to visit is grandparents. Chapter two: After Carmen and Eduardo took off in the plane with a goodbye from Eduardo's mother, Eduardo began to scream and cry. Eventually he was calmed down, and that was a huge stress relief for Carmen. They also came close to meeting a stranger named Tami. Chapter three: Carmen became upset during the flight and began to hate flying with Eduardo. She had to take him to the bathroom and all the other little things that Eduardo couldn't do by himself. On the plane ride Eduardo believed that he had to eat his vegetables, but to his surprise they had happy meals instead. Eduardo's grandparents weren't waiting at the airport when Eduardo and Carmen arrived. Carmen and Eduardo waited all day for the grandparents to show up, but they didn't and they found themselves falling asleep and eventually spending the night at the airport. Chapter four: When Carmen woke up, she couldn't find Eduardo anywhere and she panicked. She looked everywhere for Eduardo but couldn't find him. After some hours looking, she got hungry and ate the national food of Costa Rica "Gallo Pinto" She then met with a taxi driver named Pedro who said he will help her look for Eduardo. Pedro drove Carmen to what looked to be a bad part of town. Carmen felt uncomfortable and asked to get out of the car. Pedro pulled the car over and kissed Carmen on the hand, she ran away in fear. Chapter 5: Carmen took another taxi to the police station, coincidentally, Eduardo had been brought to the police station after getting lost on his way back from the bathroom. They then took a bus to Santa Elena. Carmen noticed that the roads were much different from Colorado's. When Carmen got on the bus she got a headache and wasn't feeling too good. Eduardo vomited, and Carmen felt sympathetic for him. When Carmen and Eduardo had made it to the woods, they saw the most interesting animal called an Agouti, it is a type of rodent. They communicated with Carmen's mother who told her that Eduardo's Grandparents had gotten into a minor car accident, which is why they didn't show up at the airport. Eduardo's grandparents then arranged for them to meet behind the cheese factory. Chapter 6: Carmen and Eduardo visited a place called the Cloud Forest while they were in Costa Rica. The grandmother was really anxious to see Eduardo for part of the last chapter. They took a walk out side and came back to eat dinner at Eduardo's grandparent's house. Carmen now feels differently about taking Eduardo to see his grandparents.
