What are the three safety rules when retrieving arrows- BSA?

1. Always wait until everyone in the Archery arena has finished firing their arrows before you go to retrieve yours, or until you're given the all-clear.
2. Ease the arrow out of the target using your forefinger and other hand as a guide and your thumb and the rest of your fingers and hand to slowly pull it out. If the point of the arrow is a blunt end (with no wedged tip like that of a hunting arrow), you may twist it to help pull it out. Never pull it out by gripping it in your fist and forcing it out, as you could either break the shaft or accidentally stab yourself with the point of the arrow.
3. Do not stand in front of the arrow as you pull it out; always stand off to the side.

Some other notes to consider when retrieving arrows is to never grip the arrow by or near the feathered end since you may break the arrow. If and when you are the first person back to be behind the firing line, DO NOT pick up your bow and be ready to fire. Only do this until everyone is back behind the firing line.
