Entertainment in the 1930's could have been seen as "old fashioned". Everything was mostly homemade such as the board games, the food, etc. Teenager had fun going to movies, listening to the radio hearing the Yankees and Dancing. Movies weren't just black and white, "Gone with the Wind" which featured the song "They Call the wind Mariah" were both made in 1939. Families enjoyed playing marbles, Monopoly, Chinese checkers, Checkers, etc. Soap Operas began being heard on the radio during the late 1930's. "John and Marsha", "Modern Romances" and another called "John's Other Wife" were commonly heard on the radio. Instead of Saturday morning cartoons there were radio programs like "The Shadow"; Mickey Mouse was first aired in 1928.
