Laryngospasm is a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscles around the larynx (voice box), which temporarily restricts airflow to the lungs. This condition can cause difficulty breathing, choking sensations, and can be particularly distressing. It may be triggered by irritants, Allergies, or gastroesophageal reflux, and is often seen in both adults and children. In many cases, laryngospasm resolves on its own, but severe episodes may require medical intervention.
