There are two types of spinal cord injuries. Complete spinal cord injuries refer to the types of injuries that result in complete loss of function below the level of the injury, while incomplete spinal cord injuries are those that result in some sensation and feeling below the point of injury. The level and degree of function in incomplete injuries is highly individual, and is dependent upon the way in which the spinal cord has been damaged. http://www.brainandspinalcord.org/spinal-cord-injuries/index.html
you could break your neck, become paralyzed, and/or die.
This is no different than if a human were to break their neck. It depends where the break is and what discs are damaged. Like humans, if there is a lot of damage the dog could be paralyzed. Yes
when you break C2 and C1 worst case senario is when your in a ventialator beacuase you usually cant breath on your own and your sometimes paralyzed from the neck down.
The reason why you die when you break your neck is because of a severed spinal cord. if you are luck this does not happen. and you just end up paralyzed with limited abilitys. I was lucky I broke my neck about a year ago and only has some minor nerve damage in my arm but i have since fully recovered.
If you dive in, you could hit a protrusion or debris underwater and break your neck... and die or be paralyzed.
if you break part of your spine the "plates" in your spine move which wreaks the nerve cells in the part of your back. Messages from your brain can not get pass that broken part. So if your neck is broken you are paralyzed from the neck down.
the neck will be paralyzed
It depends on where the damage occurs (if you break your neck then you will die) because some of the nerves dealing with circulation are cranial nerves.
