Just how effective is this potion? It is supposed to simulate death for 42 hours including loss of body heat and colour. Why should she look so fair indeed? Did the friar exaggerate how well the potion would simulate death? Maybe Romeo should have been able to tell that Juliet was still alive. Perhaps he was so in love with the idea of his romantic suicide that he failed to take note of what was right in front of him.
