Usually no. Typically a "skit" or "sketch" is a short funny piece that can be done as a single scene. I suppose there could be exceptions, but you certainly don't want to write a skit that needs a major set change halfway through! Think of the skits you see on sketch-based comedy shows, like Saturday Night Live.

What is the difference between a skit and a play?

A skit is short , usually has just one scene and is often part of a variety show rather than being the whole show . Skits are usually comic or satirical. Plays are more serious , longer dramatic works, often with multiple scenes and more than on act. A play generally fills an evening.
