What is it called when two operating systems are installed on the same computer?

There are three main terms when referring to a computing machine without multiple operating systems (OSs). "Dual boot" OSs offer the operator a choice between them at start-up. There are also "virtual machines" in which the primary OS is running while the second is open in a separate window simultaneously. The third is a machine with a "hard partition" with both OSs installed in two separate parts of the disk.

Do side by side refrigerators have more freezer space then the standard freezer on top refrigerators?

If you don't want the freezer to get smelly or moldy the lid should be propped open a little. If you can still fit the fridge on, then fine. However do NOT store a fridge lying down - only in it's normal orientation, or you will have compressor problems when using it again.

How do you get rid of ice at the bottom of your freezer?

First answerer: Don't smash it with a hammer, I just broke my fridge last week doing that. Your best bet is to unplug the fridge, leave the door open and just let the ice melt away. Second answerer: If you have a chest freezer there is usually a plug at the bottom that you take out to let the water drain away. You can put a pan of boiling water in and shut the door to help it melt faster.

What type of simple machine is a fridge door?

Why does ice accumulate inside the freezer?

The water going through it freezes. The water going through it freezes.Air contains water vapour which freezes on any surface below 0degC. Each time the fridge door is opened and closed a fresh volume of air enters carrying water vapour which freezes on ..... and so the cycle continues, building a thickening layer of ice. This problem is worse in high humidity conditions (>60%) when air carries more water vapour.

About Refrigerators with Bottom Freezers?

Though refrigerators with bottom freezers can be convenient, as the freezer allows more of the inside of the fridge to be at eye level, they're more expensive and a bottom freezer tends to hold less. Other than that, their maintenance is pretty much the same as top freezer refrigerators. Spills inside the fridge or freezer should be wiped up at once. An open box of baking soda should be put in both the fridge and freezer to absorb odors. It should be replaced every three months. Foods in the freezers should be stored in freezer bags, which should be dated. The coldest parts of the freezer are against the walls or the bottom of the compartment and items should have enough space between them for air to circulate.

If you leave the fridge in your kitchen open for 10 minutes after an hour is the room warmer or colder than it would have been had you not?

Warmer. A fridge works by transfering heat from inside the fridge to the coils out the back of the fridge. Leaving the door open is the same as pulling water out the bottom of a water cooler and pouring it back in the top. The transfering of heat cancels itself out. The fridge will stay running longer trying to keep the inside cold when the door is left open. This extra running time from the motor is the major source of the added heat to the room.
