In high school, only a few of Shakespeare's plays are regularly dealt with: Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Much Ado About Nothing, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and sometimes Twelfth Night. I have heard of Othello being taught to advanced classes.
Generally, high school curricula tend to favour the tragedies, with the occasional comedy. Othello is not often taught because of its sexual explicitness, King Lear because it is about old age among other things, which teachers don't think students will be able to relate to, and Titus Andronicus because it is way too violent. The others are not as well known except among real Shakespeare fans, but Coriolanus's star is rising and we may see it on the list sometime soon.
Among the comedies, Taming of the Shrew is considered to be too sexist these days. Most of the comedies require a level of sexual explicitness high school teachers are not comfortable with.
There are some excellent plays among the histories, but they do not get taught in schools.
Of course, in colleges and universities a broader range of plays may be taught.
