It doesn't have to be illegal because it is impossible. You must be dead to have a widow.

A widow is a wife whose husband has died (presumably you in this case).

Is it legal in Australia for a man to marry his widows sister?

So far, I believe it's still illegal for anyone to marry a dead person no matter who they are or where they live. But it's 2012 so that may change if people want it too badly enough; perhaps if the family of the deceased can prove that the deceased person would have agreed to the union if they had been alive. This is a crazy world you know. People have wed outside their own species already, so it's not that far a stretch to imagine it.

Why was there no wedding at the end of Much Ado about Nothing?

But there is--Claudio arrives to marry Hero's cousin, and whaddya know? it's Hero herself, back from the dead. In addition Benedick asks the priest to marry him to Beatrice, and Hero and Claudio force them to carry through with it. Yes, I know what you are going to say: where's the part where they say I do, where they exchange rings, where the officiant says they are now man and wife? Well, Shakespeare never ever, in any of his plays, shows an actual wedding ceremony. It would be sacrilegious and in fact illegal to portray an actual sacrament on stage.

Who does Claudio think he is marrying at the end of the play much ado about nothing?

He has been told that since Hero is dead he must marry her cousin. This is who he thinks he is marrying although he is actually marrying Hero who is not really dead.

Who was the woman Shakespeare married on the side?

Shakespeare only married one woman, Anne Hathaway. He did not marry anyone else "on the side" because that's called bigamy and was, and still is, illegal.
