yes and no. yes because he realizes he is a fool. and no because
he had drops put in his eyes.
Hey, Demetrius is a young Athenian, that plays one of the three couples of lovers in Shakespeares A Midsummernight's dream. He is in love with hermia and wants to marry her, but hermia doesn't love him. She loves Lysander and wants to elope with him. Hermia has a good friend, Helena. Before Demetrius fell in love with hermia, he loved Helena and she replied his love. Seeing hermia let melt his love to her, but Helena still loves him and idolices him. He is rude to her and says that he hates her. At the end of the book he marries Helena though, because of the magical power of the love flower that oberon, the king of the ferrie sand puck a farry put on his eyelids. Demetrius is blind by that magic and has to fell in love with the first peron he sees after waking up.. Witch is Helena and so they get together and marry.
There are three weddings in William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The play surrounds the festival that Theseus, the Duke of Athens, plans to celebrate his marriage to Hippolyta. His daughter, Hermia, marries her love, Lysander at the end of the place, while her former suitor, Demetrius, marries his new love, Helena.
Sparknotes, as well as many other websites, provides succinct summaries. Here's mine: Duke Theseus of Athens is going to get married in 4 days. A man (Egeus) and his daughter (Hermia) approach Theseus with the following problem: Hermia wants to marry a man (Lysander), but Egeus wants Hermia to marry a different man (Demetrius). Both Lysander and Demetrius love Hermia. Theseus commands Hermia to obey her father. She refuses, and plans to elope outside Athens' jurisdiction with Lysander. She stupidly tells this plan to her friend Helena. Helena loves Demetrius, but Demetrius wants Helena to leave him alone. Helena tells Hermia's plan to Demetrius because she thinks he will show his gratitude by marrying her. This doesn't end up working in Helena's favor, but it stops Lysander and Hermia from leaving Athens. (Sorry, my hand is hurting so I have to stop here.)
That's really a hard question to answer because throughout the play the bonds of love are broken by magic, rearranged, and put back together again. Hermia and Lysander love each other from the beginning, but half way through the play Lysander turns on Hermia for Helena because of Puck. So it's not them. Helena and Demetrius don't really survive because Helena loved Demetrius from the beginning, but he did not feel the same for her. Then in the end because of the fairy magic Demetrius loves her, so its DEFINITELY not them. Finally, there's Hippolyta and Theseus who love each other the whole time, but are not affected by the fairies magic so its them .......... but hippolyta does brag about how she have a better times with other men when theseus and her were hunting. so i think that hermia and lysander had the strongest bond because oberon only changed him back which probably showed him that they truly loved each other
Lysander loves Hermia and Hermia loves Lysander. Demetrius used to love Helena but is now in love with Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius. Egeus, Hermia's father, orders Hermia to marry Demetrius and gets the Duke of Athens involved, who explains to Hermia that if she does not obey her father she may be beheaded or forced into a life of nunnery. Next, Hermia and Lysander escape to the forest to hide from the Duke and Egeus, but Demetrius and Helena follow. Meanwhile, Oberon, King of the Fairies, and Titania, Queen of the Fairies are arguing over a boy who Titania adopted. Later, Oberon orders Puck to squeeze a special love juice in Titania's eyes as she sleeps so that the first creature she sees when she wakes up, she will fall in love with. Then, after hearing Demetrius rejecting Helena, Oberon decides that Puck should then squeeze juice into Demetrius' eyes to make him fall in love with Helena. However, Puck makes a mistake and puts the juice in the eyes of Lysander instead. Helena then stumbles over Lysander and awakes him, which causes him to then fall in love with Helena, growing hatred for Hermia, and rejects her for her best friend and man stealer Helena. In the middle of all of this confusion, a group of workmen from Athens are rehearsing a play that they will perform at the Duke's wedding. The two main actors are Nick Bottom and Peter Quince. Puck mischieviously casts a spell on Nick Bottom and magically gives him the head of a donkey! But, Bottom is the very first thing that Titania sees as she awakes and instantly falls in love with him! As Titania and Bottom admire eachother, Oberon again orders Puck to make sure DEMETRIUS falls in love with Helena and eventually Puck gets it right. Although, with Lysander AND Demetrius follow Helena like lost puppies, Helena feels she is being mocked. Finally Oberon decides that all the confusion must come to an end and puts all four lovers to sleep and gives Lysander an antidote for the juice so that he will again fall in love with Hermia. Oberon also gives Titania an antidote and the Fairy King and Queen are reunited. Theseus and Hippolyta find the four lovers in the forest and see the love they have for their admired ones and decide that they should have a joint wedding. So, they all live happily ever after, whilst watching Nick Bottom and Peter Quince's dedicated play.
No-Hermia falls in love with Lysander whereas Helena falls in love with Demetrius (who is meant to be Hermias husband to be!)
At the beginning they are: Lysander and Hermia Hippolyta and Theseus A one sided love between Helena and Demetrius. (On Helena's part) At the end they are: Lysander and Hermia Hippolyta and Theseus Helena and Demetrius
The four young lovers in A Midsummer Night's Dream are Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius. The play explores their intertwined romantic entanglements amidst the magical chaos unleashed by the fairy Puck.
There are three people in the play who are put under the spell of the love juice, these people are Titania, Lysander and Demetrius - in that order - and the only one who is still under the spell at the end of the play is Demetrius.

These lines are exchanged by Hermia and Helena, two friends. They are speaking of the young man Demetrius, who is in love with Hermia. Hermia, however, is in love with Lysander, and, to make matters more complicated, Helena loves Demetrius. Hermia speaks first, commenting on how she cannot seem to shake Demetrius from his puppy love, even though she scorns him. Helena responds, saddened that even when she tries her hardest, she cannot gain Demetrius's affections. In the end of the play, all is right--Lysander and Hermia are together, as are Demetrius and Helena.
Helena was a important person in in A Midsummer's Night Dream because she was part of a "love triangle" i do agree. Here is the real reason, Helena is Hermias best friend. Helena used to date Demetrius then he broke up with her to go out with Hermia. But Hermia is due to marry him but she doesnt want to. She is in love with Lysander. He dislikes Demetius but Helena practially stalks him. She begs him to be hers. When Hermia and Lysander finally plan to go run off and get married and the tell Helena and she thonks if she tells Demertius that he will fall in love with her.
I had to do a persausive letter on this here is a part of it: I know you had your heart set on marrying Demetrius, but Lysander is more worthy. Lysander truly loves me and always will, but how do you know that Demetrius always will too? "Demetrius, I'll avouch it to his head, Made love to Nedar's daughter, Helena… Upon this spotted and inconstant man" (15). Demetrius was in love with Helena until he saw me. He just ran out on her, and now her heart is broken in two because of him. While it is true that Demetrius loves me, he also loved Helena and now he is treating her poorly. If I did wed him, he might run out on someone again, and then my heart would be broken. And he would treat me how he treats Helena now. Lysander would always be with me and would be kind and gentle. Unlike that warped gasty-witted flirt-gill, Demetrius!

She is tall and awkward which contrasts with Hermia's small and gracefulness. She loves Hermia as a sister, but at the same time she's mad with jealousy, to the point that she tells the man she loves (who is actually in love with Hermia) about her best friend's (Hermia) departure into the woods. Throughout the entire play she is self-conscious , sad, lonely, used (by Demetrius), and jealous (Or Hermia). That is, until the very end when Puck(My hero), makes Demetrius fall in love with Helena (the woman he's slept with and who loves him).
