its not, boleros are, and Andes music is., but cumbia plays an important part in all family festivities from every area of Ecuador, it came from both sides , Columbia and Peru,, having mor emajor influence over the sound, the ecuadorian style is mainly techno cumbia and is usually more pop style..or indiginous style with talks of thhe countrys politics and nature in general.
