My sony rx55 stereo system is connected to my pc.It works fine but there's a humming sound coming from the speakers if i switch the input to aux. It remains if I disconnect the system from the pc.?

Before you proceed, disconnect everything and when you plug back in, make sure each electrical cord in connected to the same circuit in your home/site. If you are not sure, plug in to the same strip or wall socket.
Then proceed to connect these devices as you had before with that exception.
If it is not practical to keep the set up that works without the "hum", use a wireless connection between PC and STEREO, such as a FM transmitter (100-200 feet capacity)
My recommendation in buy a simple mixer ($44)
