One of the many points that Shakespeare was trying to make in writing "Romeo and Juliet" was that the emotions of humans (teenagers especially) are incredibly fickle. Romeo and Juliet had seen each other a total of THREE TIMES before they killed themselves, they fell in "love" based on appearance, and Romeo had been "in love" with a different girl a day before. They were not in love, but infatuated, as teenagers often are. So based on that, they were not "made for each other" in the way that modern audiences interpret on a not-so-careful reading.
However, had the parents accepted their desire to be together and allowed them, they might not have died. Then there would be no story. ;]
Between themselves, they do. Unfortunately their relationship is based on a lie and a deception--not that they are lying to or deceiving each other, but that they are lying to and deceiving their parents, families and friends.
They are in love, so deeply in love that they are maturing and changing rapidly because of it.

My favorite part is when Juliet is standing on her balcony and Romeo is in the bushes below. Juliet (not knowing romeo can hear her) is talking about how she wishes he were there and that they could be together.
