Antigone is brave. She decides upon a course of action in which she gets no help from anyone. She knows that her actions have a 99.9% recurring chance of leading to an ignominious death. Antigone is passionate. She respects certain guides along the way through life and into death. She's faithful to these god-given traditions. She follows them, because she believes in them. She's faithful to her beliefs, as the correct thing to do. Her choices have nothing to do with what everyone else is doing or with what's the current fad or trend. Antigone is straightforward. She finds it more important to get the deed done than to protect herself from being identified as the perpetrator. At the same time, Antigone's bravery leads her to take risks. That risk-taking makes her more oriented towards the manner in which she will die and how she will be welcomed in the underworld realms of the dead. Similarly, Antigone's passion leads her to be heated in her conversation. She wants to make her points, definitely and indelibly. She therefore tends to come on too strong, too disrespectful of earthly matters in her over-respect for matters of dying and death. And, finally, Antigone's honesty leads her to disdain the opposing feelings and experiences of othes. She becomes too narrow-minded, too black-and-white in her world view.
