Well, obviously if you want to go into one of those fields, then choose that one. Other wise, it really doesn't matter, as long as you have extracurriculars. Try to find something in which you can obtain a leadership role. And if you are interested in a particular major, then do activities related to that. But most of all, make sure your GPA is as close to 4.0 as possible and you do well on the SAT and ACT exams.

A performing arts school, is basically a school that the kids get to express their talents. I mean, they do have all of the regular subjects too, (i.g.- math, social studies, science, etc.) but they also have extra stuff like Dance , Choral , Art , Video , Picture Editing , Band. some schools have that but performing arts schools take it to a little more extreme level. hope that helped!

There is however, Knightswood secondary school on the outskirts of Glasgow which does musical theatre within its curriculum.
