When Macbeth doesn't kill Duncan, Lady Macbeth decides to insult and question his manhood. Her beliefs are that manhood can only be defined through murder. And in a way Lady Macbeth 'dares' Macbeth to kill Duncan. Macbeth encouraged by his wife's determination and the chance to prove his manhood agrees to continue with the murder.

Lady Macbeth made the plan for the murder of Duncan. However, Macbeth altered it by murdering the fall guys for the murder, so they could not deny their involvement. When Lady Macbeth hears about it she faints, probably because she realizes that Macbeth is out of her control.

She goes back to Duncan's bedroom to plant the daggers on the grooms and smear them with blood. Macbeth says he's just not up to it.
