Two things. One is the verb meaning to go from where you are to somewhere else. "I leave for London in the morning" This is the most common meaning.

There is also a noun form "I take my leave" which means "I'm leaving now".

The second meaning means "permission". This is the meaning in the phrase "absent without leave (AWOL)". It occurs in phrases like "give me leave", or "I ask your leave", "by your leave" and so on.
