She does this to reinforce to Macbeth that she would keep any promise that she makes to him no matter what the severity of the actions. She is demonstrating her devotion to him, criticising him of not having the same level of love for due to not carrying through with his actions in the killing of Duncan. In telling him of how she would kill her own baby for him she tries to rouse his quilt and implies that she is much braver than he is.
