About 37 plays are established beyond reasonable doubt as being Shakespeare's (there are a few more which scholars still argue over). Of these about 30 are regularly performed, and there are only one or two which are hardly ever seen.

William Shakespeare's most popular work is almost certainly Romeo and Juliet: but nearly everything he wrote is worth seeing at least once.

There is sort of a sliding scale.

Of the plays, some like Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet are extremely well-known, but there are probably a dozen more which most people know or know of: Othello, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, King Lear, As You Like It, The Merchant of Venice, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, The Tempest, Richard III and Henry V.

Of the poems, Sonnet XVIII is extremely well-known, but there are others which are also frequently read, such as Sonnet CXXX.
