The Nurse provided the rope ladder for Romeo to climb up to Juliet's room on their wedding night and she served as a messanger for Juliet. She was one of the few adults in on the secret, along with Friar Lawrence, and since women Juliet's age weren't allowed out of the house often, the Nurse sent messages between Romeo and Juliet. The Nurse also raised Juliet since she was an infant, and even breastfed her. She was more of a mother to her than Lady Capulet.

∙ 15y agoThe importance of the nurse is that she is Juliets best friend and airgo her shoulder to cry on and advice giver who helps her out of hot water so she helps her with Romeo. Think of her as Juliets Benvolio or Mercutio.

∙ 12y agoshe can keep Juliet's and Romeo's secret of secretly marrying and seeing each other and she also helps them see each other. She knows more about Juliet than Juliet's own mother knows about her and she basically raised Juliet. she kind of wanted Juliet to marry Paris and she didn't really say anything about Juliet loving romeo because Juliet didn't even want to marry anyone until she meet romeo.

∙ 9y agoThe nurse does such things as repeatedly tell off-colour and embarrassing stories about Juliet's childhood, tell Romeo who Juliet is, find out for Juliet who Romeo is, carry a message from Juliet to Romeo, bring Juliet news of Tybalt's death, bring Romeo news about how Juliet feels about Romeo being banished, procure a ladder so Romeo can sneak into Juliet's bedroom, advise Juliet to treat Romeo as a roll in the hay and to commit bigamy, get yelled at by Capulet for standing up for Juliet, and that sort of thing.
