the theme of the poem tich miller is exclusion at school. the young girl is never picked for "outdoor games" at lunchtime. instead she spends her days standing by the "wire mesh fence" along with a fat girl. both these girls tubby and tich are the outcasts at school. they are the children that the others will not play with. they do not fit in because they are looked at as odd or different. tich wears big pick glasses and has one huge clownish looking foot. tubby is fat. there are words in the poem that emphasise their exclusion at school eg. "always", "never", "left standing" and "usually". these words show us the girls miserable and lonely life at school.

Arthur Miller used the theme of the American Dream in "Death of a Salesman" to critique the unrealistic ideals of success and wealth that permeate American society. The protagonist, Willy Loman, embodies the struggle to achieve this dream, illustrating how its unattainable nature can lead to despair and disillusionment. Through Willy's tragic downfall, Miller highlights the dangers of equating self-worth with material success and challenges the notion that hard work guarantees prosperity. Ultimately, the play serves as a poignant commentary on the complexities and failures of the American Dream.
The biggest theme explored in the play Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller is that of the merits of the American Dream. It also explores themes of what defines success, how deception can affect people, and what reputation means.
