She tells lies, manipulates her friends and the entire town, and eventually sends nineteen innocent people to their deaths. He finds out Abigail had an affair with John Proctor, she runs away, and she stole money take your pick lol :)

In scene three, however, the three things he discovers are that she a) had an affair with John Proctor, b) she danced naked in the woods with her friends and c) she got kicked out of the meetinghouse twice for laughing during prayer.

Why do you suppose Mary Warren changes her testimony at the end of Act 3 in The Crucible?

Mary Warren is a weak character, always eager to find her place in a crowd and remain safely behind a stronger person like Abigail Williams. She was reluctant to testify to begin with, and when the other girls' behavior started to cast doubt on her testimony, she gave in. She didn't want to be singled out or discredited.

What is abigail's motivation to open herself and begin naming names in the crucible?

she knew that the girls would stop being blamed for awhile if they got the reverend to start going after other people that were already suspicious.

What is some conflicts in act 2 of The Crucible by Arthur Miller?

One of the most apparent and obvious conflict appears in the beginning of the Act, when the teenaged girls of the village have been caught dancing in the woods. This is against the religious beliefs of the town. With the word of the girls dancing in the woods, the witchcraft "rumors" are spread. This conflict leads to all other conflicts . . . (The village people getting accused of witchcraft), Abigail had started it... always telling lies and making the situation even worse, that ended up the main conflict. The second conflict I see as a big table turner is the affair that John Proctor had with Abigail Williams. These two had an affair when Abigail was working in John's house and Abigail believed that if she got rid of Elizabeth Proctor, then John Proctor would become her own. John Proctor HAD an affair with Abigail, but for him it was just puppy love, while Abigail believed it was true love. She told John Proctor that she loved him, and once she gets rid of Elizabeth, they would be free to love each other. John is freaked out by this, but can do nothing to convince Abigail that he is not in love with her. Abigail then accuses Elizabeth of witchcraft and is arrested. John Proctor has the decision of what to do. He knows that he has sinned but does not want to hurt his wife. Two young girls are in trances, seemingly unable to see or hear the outside world. - Some of the girls want to tell the adults the truth, but Abigail keeps them from doing so. -Abigail and John Proctor have had an affair. She still wants to be with him, but he tells her that they can never be together again. -Proctor and Putnam begin to argue over wood being taken off land. - Many of the villagers become sure of witchcraft. - Abigail accuses Tituba of witchcraft who in turn accuses other women of the town.

In the play Twelfth Night is Malvolio a character to be pitied or does he deserve his fate?

Personally, I believe that although Malvolio deserved his fate to begin with, he is respected (in a strange way) when he does not use this as a difference in personality. But, I do not think he should be pitied; despite him being the only sad/worse off character in the end.

Why beginning with a character is a good way to begin a piece of fiction?

When you're writing fiction, you start with one of two things - a plot or a character. Either are good. When you start with a character, you imagine different things that might happen to that person; when you start with a plot, you imagine what characters would work best with that plot.

How do you begin writing a letter from one novel character to another connecting conflicts character traits and plot points?

You begin with "Dear ___ (put the other character's name)" and just write a letter. If you can't think of what to put in, perhaps writing a letter is not the best way to connect these things! Very few writers use letters as a way to advance the plot.
