What does he say romeo tried to before mercutio was killed?

Benvolio, at the Prince's request, explains the two fatal swordfights. He tells the Prince that Romeo tried to talk Tybalt out of fighting and tried to make peace with Tybalt, and that Romeo reminded Tybalt that the Prince had forbidden fighting. He relates how Tybalt and Mercutio insisted on fighting, and how Romeo had knocked their swords away from each other with his arm and had rushed between them trying to stop the fight. He explains that Tybalt started the fight.

Who should be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet in 200 words?

In my opinion, Friar Lawrence is guilty for Romeo and Juliet's death. I think he is guilty because he married Romeo and Juliet. He gave Juliet the potion, and because he didn't get the message to Romeo, I think that he should have met up with Romeo on the outside of Capulet's tomb. Or maybe he could of gone to Mantua and met with Romeo face to face.

MONTAGUE Who set this ancient quarrel new abroach?Speak, nephew, were you by when it began?BENVOLIO Here were the servants of your adversary,And yours, close fighting ere I did approach:I drew to part them: in the instant cameThe fiery Tybalt, with his sword prepared,Which, as he breathed defiance to my ears,He swung about his head and cut the winds,Who nothing hurt withal hiss'd him in scorn:While we were interchanging thrusts and blows,Came more and more and fought on part and part,Till the prince came, who parted either part.LADY MONTAGUE O, where is Romeo? saw you him to-day?Right glad I am he was not at this fray.BENVOLIO Madam, an hour before the worshipp'd sunPeer'd forth the golden window of the east,A troubled mind drave me to walk abroad;Where, underneath the grove of sycamoreThat westward rooteth from the city's side,So early walking did I see your son:Towards him I made, but he was ware of meAnd stole into the covert of the wood:I, measuring his affections by my own,That most are busied when they're most alone,Pursued my humour not pursuing his,And gladly shunn'd who gladly fled from me.MONTAGUE Many a morning hath he there been seen,With tears augmenting the fresh morning dew.Adding to clouds more clouds with his deep sighs; But all so soon as the all-cheering sunShould in the furthest east begin to drawThe shady curtains from Aurora's bed,Away from the light steals home my heavy son,And private in his chamber pens himself,Shuts up his windows, locks far daylight outAnd makes himself an artificial night:Black and portentous must this humour prove,Unless good counsel may the cause remove.BENVOLIO My noble uncle, do you know the cause?MONTAGUE I neither know it nor can learn of him.BENVOLIO Have you importuned him by any means?MONTAGUE Both by myself and many other friends:But he, his own affections' counsellor,Is to himself--I will not say how true--But to himself so secret and so close,So far from sounding and discovery,As is the bud bit with an envious worm,Ere he can spread his sweet leaves to the air,Or dedicate his beauty to the sun.Could we but learn from whence his sorrows grow.We would as willingly give cure as know.Enter ROMEO BENVOLIO See, where he comes: so please you, step aside;I'll know his grievance, or be much denied.MONTAGUE I would thou wert so happy by thy stay,To hear true shrift. Come, madam, let's away.

How did romeo escape his friends?

He lingered behind when leaving the party. His friends had gone on ahead, but he was still at the door. Notice that the guests have practically all gone when Juliet asks the nurse who Romeo is. I guess they didn't wait up for him, and he had no desire to catch them up.

He jests at scars that never felt a wound what does that remark mean?

My understanding of this line is as follows: Romeo of course is speaking to himself as he is hiding from his friend, Mercutio and Benvolio as they are leaving the Capulets' masked Ball where Romeo meets Juliet for the first time. (Romeo is planning to return to the House of Capulet to see Juliet again which is why he is avoiding Mercutio and Benvolio.) Prior to attending the party and seeing Juliette, Romeo had a crush on Rosaline and had been lamenting this frustrated love earlier in the play. Mercutio is calling out trying to locate Romeo and is teasing Romeo about his crush on Rosaline. Romeo responds basically saying, "ah, I'm over her (Roseline). I was never really in love with her anyway now that I've seen Juliet so your jokes are falling flat 'cause all previous attractions have disappeared after seeing Juliet. That's right, isn't it Mr. Holbrook? (My high school English Literature teacher) ha this guys a moron^ "mr.holbrook" would be very dissapointed kidd. he can't even spell Juliet right. who the hell is roxanne? i do believe it's rosaline. mind you im a freshman. yah kid you need to hit the books >.< haha i agree with you this kid doesn't know how to spell but i fixed it for u your welcome. Well, I don't think either of these people have actually answered your question, so let me see if I can... The quote "He jests at scars that never felt a wound," implies that it is easy for someone (Mercutio) to joke at scars if he has never been cut. Meaning, that Mercutio doesn't know what he is talking about when he speak of love, because he has never felt it according to Romeo

When does the friar's assistant realize he can't give romeo the note?

He never realizes this...here's what happened... and sorry if you already know most of this...i just don't know what you already know... Okay so after Romeo's friend, Mercutio, was killed by Tybalt (Juliet's cousin), Romeo goes and kills Tybalt (I don't know if he killed him on purpose or just wanted to fight...) anyways, Romeo kills Tybalt and is banished to a town called Mantua. In the meantime, Juliet takes the friar's fake death potion and is buried in her family's tomb. Romeo's servant, Balthazar, travels to Mantua to tell him the news and Romeo rushes back right away to visit his love in her tomb. In the movie, and i think the play also, Romeo basically passes friar John (the assistant) on his way back to Verona. Friar John was on his way to Mantua to deliver the letter to Romeo, however, Romeo had just gone back to Verona. The reason Romeo didn't get the letter was just bad timing. If he had waited in Mantua, he would have gotten it, probably that same day. yeah.....that part is sad...:(

Who was Romeo in the older Romeo And Juliet movie?

I assume you mean the 1936 movie. That was Leslie Howard. You know, the dude who played Ashley in Gone With the Wind.

Why does Juliet kiss Romeo after his death in Romeo and Juliet?

Juliet kisses Romeo because she wants to see if there is any poison left on his lips so that she could drink some poison and also die , because there is no point in living now, now that Romeo is gone.
