Two of his business associates, John Heminges and Henry Condell, were close enough friends to be mentioned in Shakespeare's will. They also took on the job of publishing the first ever volume of his collected plays.

Shakespeare's closest friends were the members of his acting company. He left a little money to Richard Burbage, John Heminges and Henry Condell in his will. Heminges and Condell were the two guys that decided to publish a volume of Shakespeare's collected works seven years after he died.

He and his wife were also close with their neighbours Hamnet and Judith Sadler, so much so that the Shakespeares named their twins Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet Sadler was one of the five witnesses to Shakespeare's Will and also received (along with a Mr. Reynolds and a Mr. Nash, and his three theatre buddies) 26 shillings and 8 pence under the will.

William Shakespeare is known to have been close friends with his business associates and other members of the theatrical community. In particular he was a friend to Richard Burbage, John Heminges and Henry Condell, all of whom were sharers in the theatre company and all of whom were mentioned in Shakespeare's will. Heminges and Condell returned the favour by arranging for the publication of the First Folio. He was also close to his replacement, John Fletcher, and also to his fellow playwright, Ben Jonson, who wrote a number of poems commending Shakespeare's work.

His closest friends were the members of his acting company. He also had friends in Stratford, such as Hamnet and Judith Sadler, for whom the twins were named. But we do not have any diaries or similar intimate documents which would tell us if any of these friends were special in any way.

Some sources say he was close with his wife Anne, but other sources dispute this. We do know Shakespeare had a number of friends from the theatre (as it was spelled back then). Among them were Richard Burbage (an actor and theatre-owner); and also John Heminges and Henry Condell (both actors, but more important to Shakespeare, they published the First Folio, the first collection of his plays).

Shakespeare's best friends were other people in the theatre industry. The members of his company, Richard Burbage, Henry Condell and John Heminges were his closest associates, and he remembered them in his will. A fellow actor, Augustine Phillips, also remembered Shakespeare in his will. Shakespeare was friendly with his fellow playwrights as well; a story says that he was out drinking with Ben Jonson and Michael Drayton before his death. Shakespeare also had friends in Stratford, his home town. His friend and neighbour Hamnet Sadler was named as a witness to his will, and when he and Anne had twins, they named them after Mr. Sadler and his wife Judith.

Who is the friend of shakespeare in hamlet?

Hamlets friends are Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Horation. However throughout the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern turn against Hamlet (not going to spoil how!) which leads to their downfall. Horation never goes against Hamlet, he is always there for him when Hamlet needs him. Hamlet is the best play by Shakespeare!!

Was Ben Jonson Friend of Shakespeare?

discuss the question I'll tell you. .......... We know that Ben Jonson was a close friend of Shakespeare, because Ben Jonson discussed talked at length about Shakespeare (both as a man and as a writer) in 'Discoveries' (a sort of blog that Jonson published late in life) and in his 'Conversations with William Drummond of Hawthornden' (a record of several conversations he had with a Scottish friend). Jonson's most famous comment about Shakespeare is that he 'loved the man (this side idolatry)'. After Shakespeare's death, when his colleagues John Heminge and Henry Condell assembled a complete plays (The First Folio - Shakespeare never published a collected edition during his lifetime) they asked Ben Jonson to write the dedicatory poem. (Ben Jonson: 'To the Reader' - First Folio). There are many other testimonies to Jonson's close friendship with Shakespeare. But Jonson's own words are the best evidence.

The first evidence we have of Shakespeare's writing was a harsh criticism written by Robert Green in 1592. He calls Shakespeare an "upstart crow" largely, it is thought, because Shakespeare did not go to University.
