no i dont think so some might be but i think they are trying to hide from them selves, put on a mask and act funny but sometimes clowns end up depressed and alone people think they are ok but they arent

Well, "comic" is usually referring to someone or something funny so clowns are referrenced to as funny and with clowns having a "Red Nose" it's probably referred to that.
