The reason that people shout in Pentecostal is because The Bible says to shout with a voice of Triumph and to dance with joy. Basically, it is the way that God said that He wants people to praise him. So, that is why they do it.

When do people dance polka?

If you are a church-goer does this means you can't have fun and drink and dance?

That would depend on which Church you belong to. Many religions approve of all those things in moderation. Actually, with some churches you could go TO church and "have fun and drink and dance". Each church has its own rules, some of them are written down and some of them are just "we don't do that" things. Find a church that makes you feel like you belong there and you can learn something about life and getting closer to Spirit from those people. Find out what their rules of behavior are, and then don't do anything to upset the other members or insult them when you are with them. When you are not with members of the church your conduct should be based on what you think is right. If you are having trouble figuring out what is what, talk it over with a pastor or an elder. If they are cool, they won't tell you what is "right and wrong" but they'll help you figure things out for yourself. A good church will recognize that people screw up and not everyone believes the same. They should give you the space to find your own answers.

What are the types of Anglican churches?

As for the buildings - most types of Anglican church buildings are similar to other denominations - at one end there is a Communion table (called 'altar in RC churches) at which the bread and wine are shared during Communion services. In the same area is a communion rail where believers receive the bread and wine whilst kneeling. In addition there will be a pulpit fromwhere the sermon is preached, a lectern from where the Bible is read, a font for baptisms and a means of creating music -- usually an organ or a piano, or space for musicians. All Anglican churches have these common things - but some have them to a greater or less degree with regard to ornateness, size and so on. As for the types of churches (as bodies of people) then the Anglican Church is very broad. At one end, there are charmatic evangelical Anglicans whose worship is similar to the Pentecostal Church where gifts of the Spirit ( especially prophesy and speaking in tongues) are important. The style of worship will have modern music and there will be a great deal of arm waving and even liturgical dance. At the other extreme there is the Anglo-Catholic wing where the 'High Church' Anglican is more reminiscent of Roman Catholic worship where the use of older music, and a great deal of ceremony with incense, lavish robes and so on create a mysterious ambiene to accompany the worship. Within these two extremes are the majority of Anglican churches where traditional services (like Morning prayer, Evening prayer and Holy Communion) are common, and where there is, perhaps, a little of the two extremes in worship, but the use of charismatic liturgy or Roman ceremony is very limited or non-existent. Unlike some denominations, the Anglican Church is not split into further subdivisions that have little to do with one another. The international Anglican Church consists of local groups of churches (eg The Church of England, The Church in Wales, The Episcopal Church in the USA) all of which are in full communion with each other across the Anglican Church worldwide.

Is dancing forbidden at a pentecostal wedding?

Dancing before the Lord in worship and praise is allowed. We must remember that King David in Psalms danced before the Lord all the time and sang. Dancing is often misunderstood in a typical non-pentecostal church because the typical conservative church doesn't understand that dancing before the Lord pleases Him! In Exodus 15:20, Miriam dances before the Lord in celebration of being protected and delivered from the hands of the Egyptian armies who found their fate in the Red Sea. God protected His people and kept his promises.Biblical verses that prove that God loves the dance: (worship before Him).Exodus 15:20: Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.Psalms 149:3: Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.Psalms 150:4: Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!Even Lamentations talks that without dancing before the Lord, our joy is not full and our dance turned into mourning.Lamentations 5:15: The joy of our heart has ceased; Our dance has turned into mourning.Obviously, we must realize that a pentecostal church and any church should be in obedience to the Lord to His commandments. By not doing what He (our Lord) commands, we walk in disobedience and the Lord talks about this in Romans 5:19: For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. But in Romans 11:30, Paul talks about obedience and what it means when we obey our Lord God. In Romans 11:30: For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,Just remember, Jesus is the reason for all seasons. Dancing in all seasons before our Lord in worship and praise is showing God just how much you love Him and how you worship Him!

Is the song Simple Gifts sang in the Catholic Church?

Simple Gifts is an old Shaker song, actually it is considered a dance song. Probably the best known version is by English songwriter Sydney Carter, who adapted the Shaker tune for his song "Lord of the Dance", first published in 1963; which unfortunately has made it into way too many Catholic Churches.
