Mrs. Capulet has left the raising of her daughter totally to the Nurse. She has never had any kind of one-on-one relationship with Juliet and it makes her nervous. She falls back on getting the Nurse in there to ease her discomfort.

What was surprising about lady Capulet in Duty?

Your question is unclear. Is Duty a different play from Romeo and Juliet which also has a character called Lady Capulet? (actually, the character in Romeo and Juliet was not called Lady Capulet in Shakespeare's time--since Capulet was no lord, she could not be a lady. She is called the much simpler "Mother".)

Who were friends of Paris in Romeo and Juliet?

I am not aware of any of his freinds, but he did seem very friendly with Capulet as he would always come to their mansion to ask Capulet whether he could marry Juliet yet. He did have a page in Act 5 Scene 3.

Who were Juliet's parents in Romeo and Juliet?

Juliet's parents are named Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet, whereas Romeo's parents are named Lord Montague and Lady Montague.I've read the play, and as far as I could tell, it never says their given names, but if you want to refer to them, call them the above names (their last names).

What is the name of the woman who looks after Juliet in romeo and Juliet?

The Nurse's real name may be Angelica. You can find this in... (Act 4, Scene 4)Capulet says "Look to the baked meats, good Angelica: Spare not for cost". There are two women on stage he could be addressing this to: one is the Nurse, the other (identified in Folio and all Quartos after the first as "Lady of the house" but in Q1 as "Mother") is generally accepted to be Lady Capulet. He could be addressing either of them. The nurse responds to his comment, but she could be interrupting as usual. It seems weird that Capulet should be telling either of these women to look after the baked meats--his wife is not a servant and the Nurse is not a cook, and in Scene 2 he said he was hiring "twenty cunning cooks" whose job this would be, one would think. On the other hand, here is Lady C asking the nurse to get her spices. It sounds like she is in charge of some portion of the cooking. The nurse responds that fruit is needed for the pastries but she is just a messenger: she says "They call for dates and quinces in the pastry." Someone else is in charge of cooking the pastries. If Lady C is the cook, then Capulet's remark is meant for her, and she is Angelica, not the Nurse. But the issue is certainly ambiguous.

Why shouldn't Capulet rush the marriage of Paris and Juliet?

Capulet shouldn't rush the marriage of Paris and Juliet because Juliet is still very young and may not be ready for such a commitment. Rushing the marriage could also lead to resentment from Juliet and strain their relationship. It's important to give Juliet time to grow and make her own decisions about marriage.

Why did count Paris visit Capulet?

Count Paris visited the Capulet house in order to ask for Juliet's hand in marriage. He had been informed by Lord Capulet that Juliet was of marriageable age and possessed of sufficient assets and beauty to make her a desirable bride. These included: The wealth and prestige associated with a Capulet The beauty and grace of Juliet herself The potential political alliances that could be forged through the marriageCount Paris was ultimately successful in his quest and Juliet's father granted him permission to marry her. He was delighted and the two were soon betrothed.

Where did Juliet tell the nurse she was going after her fight with Capulet?

She said she was going to church to confession. Actually this was the only excuse she could use to get out of the house, where she was practically a prisoner.

How many females in Romeo and Juliet?

There are either four or five "named" female characters, depending on your perspective. The definite ones are Juliet, of course, Lady Capulet, Lady Montague, and the Nurse. The one that's "iffy" is Rosaline, who plays a significant role in early dialogue but never actually appears in any of the scenes.
