Is Philippines a rich country in Asia?

Philippines is in the middle. Not rich nor poor.

Is Philippines rich or poor?

Why is the Philippines rich in minerals and yet we remain a poor country?

The abundance of minerals doesn't guarantee wealth as their extraction and processing require significant investment and infrastructure. Inadequate governance, corruption, weak institutions, and lack of value addition in the mining sector contribute to the Philippines not fully benefiting from its mineral resources. Additionally, economic challenges like income inequality, poor education, and underdeveloped industries also play a role in the country's overall wealth.

Why do I hear that the Philippines is poor?

The Philippines is not completely poor. You see poor people on the streets and squatter areas only. We have a lot of rich and 'middle' people in the Philippines. The government, which Nonoy Aquino is President is helping the people. I answered this as a proud to be a Pilipina.
