Aesculapius was the god of healing and wellness. From what I've been taught (via University of Kansas): Socrates is telling his friend that a rooster needs to be sacrificed to Aesculapius in thanks for Socrates finally being healed at death. Socrates sees death as a healing because he is finally set free from this needy corpse (always needing fed, needing rest, etc). Now he can finally just think and 'philosophize' without this body interfering.

What did Socrates say about debt?

"Crito, I owe a cock to Asclepius; will you remember to pay the debt?" - From Plato's account of the trial and death of Socrates. Notes: These were the last words of Socrates. Asclepius was the Greek God of the healing arts. A cock was a traditional sacrificial animal.

Were Socrates' last words on his deathbed Farewell till tomorrow?

No, Socrates' last words on his deathbed, as reported by Plato, were addressed to his friend Crito and urged him to sacrifice a cock to Asclepius. He also asked Crito to repay a debt he owed to the god.

What was socrate last words before he died?

Socrates' last words before he died were reported to be: "Crito, we owe a cock to Asclepius. Do pay it. Don't forget." This was a reference to making a sacrifice to the god of healing, Asclepius, as a sign of gratitude for a peaceful death.

What word tells you that Socrates faced death bravely?

Bravely but also circumspectly: His last words to a friend: "Crito, we owe a cock to Asclepius. Please, don't forget to pay the debt." He didn't want to face a god to whom he owed a debt for his medicinal termination, rather than having his throat cut by the public executioner and his body thrown into a refuse pit.

When Socrates was in prison at the end of his life what did he say in lament over the financial obligations that he was about to leave behind when he died?

This is from the Wikipedia article linked below: * Socrates' death is described at the end of Plato's Phaedo. Socrates turned down the pleas of Crito to attempt an escape from prison. After drinking the poison, he was instructed to walk around until his limbs felt heavy. After he lay down, the man who administered the poison pinched his foot. Socrates could no longer feel his legs. The numbness slowly crept up his body until it reached his heart. Shortly before his death, Socrates speaks his last words to Crito: "Crito, we owe a cock to Asclepius. Please, don't forget to pay the debt." Asclepius was the Greek god for curing illness, and it is likely Socrates' last words meant that death is the cure-and freedom, of the soul from the body. The Roman philosopher Seneca attempted to emulate Socrates' death by hemlock when forced to commit suicide by the Emperor Nero.
