Chinese believe in mutual benefit. they are good at negotiating and they will make sure you didn't get more than you should.

Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism can be seen as religion and philosophy. Some people don't participate in their worship and ritue but integrate their value system into their personal belief.

Taoism emphasize the relationship of human and universe. yin and yang is the fundamental element of the world, and from taoist's view of universe come out Chinese medicine, fung shui, tai chi and more. It's theory attempt to explain natural phenomenon, through different kinds of energy(yin yang energy), direction (North east south west), time (star position) and element (metal,wood,water,fire and earth). It appears to be magical but had also serve as the basis of science in far east civilization for hundreds of years. Taoism also encourage pursuit of happiness. But it also point out that you can be happy(rich) when you are poor, because when you see through your obsession with desires(i.e I have to do/own.... to be happy), when you don't want anything anymore, you are the most contented person in the world. Taoist stress enjoying and be harmony with the nature. laozi also once said that death means your spirit return to the universe.

Buddhism stress karma, that what you do in your life is record and judged. If you do good and be nice to others, good karma(luck) will be reward to you. If you do bad, then suffering to you. If it didn't come to you in this life, it will happen in your next life. Buddhist believe that life is a cycle that never ends (until you become Buddha). When you die your memories are erased and you have a chance to be any living things : man, woman, animal, insect. So don't kill as all life are equal. You kill an ant chances are you will be an ant in your next life.

Confucianism focus on human relationship with one another, and different ethical teaching is applied to different relationship.

parents and child.

Parent should love and give and teach the best for your child;Children should obey, respect and honor your parent. Its the parent's fault if the child turns bad. It's the child's fault if they are rude to their parent. Child owe their parent for their entire life as the parent is the cause of the child's existence, and also their unlimited love and care for the child when its small. Children should take care of their parents, let them eat first, sleep first, walk in front. Do not criticize them.

Older brother/sister should take care of and have responsibility toward younger brother/sister. Not as much as the parent, but still have undeniable responsibility. younger brother/sister should listen and respect their older brother/sister.

Close friends may have a Older brother/sister, younger brother/sister relationship by faith, and same rules apply.
