It depends on which aspect we might be exploring. On a universal level, everything exists in a naturally intelligent system. This system explains the cause and effects between things and their material or animal behavior. The four main elements are EARTH, AIR, FIRE, and WATER. I like to refer to the human SPIRIT as a 5th element. Through philosphy and eventually scientific study, mankind has learned the connections and relationships between all matter an an atomic level. Metaphysics still offers unclaimed territory and aspects of being human, yet to be discovered. I see two ecosystems we are challenged to study and understand. The earth's Ecology, the planetary ecosystem, and our inner world, our mind's ecosystem. There is more and more evidence that we are all connected as one, this is referred to as the global consciousness, or the collective conscious. This is how ideas come to us, how one guy can think up an idea, and another guy in China might implement that same idea that only a few people knew about. Energy flows through all aspects of life, it flows through our bodies, buildings, trees and through the air. Energy is harnessed and manipulated to work for us, for many modern purpsoses. Today we are all connected through computer networks, via the internet. About the question, there is an old saying, one thing leads to another. Physical and meaningful connections help us relate one idea to another, and recognize needs for new ideas or a new way to meet our every day needs. When we want something, we need to do or have something to get it, and to have that we will need to be, do or have something to satisfy that need, and so on. One thing leads to another.

Why people believe in Existentialism?

Because, believe it or not, religion has no proof and several 'plot holes'. People need something real, which existentialism is. But like religion, there are different types of existentialism, the side that believes nothing is connected and nothing matters and anything you do has no meaning, and the side that believes everything is connected and has meaning. Religions are more of void filler for the soul, you seek for something to believe mentally because you can't fathom a world with no meaning and find it downright depressing to think there is no afterlife. But the truth is nobody knows anything more than anybody else, life is nothing more than perceptions of the mind, identity is an illusion, and the only thing that connects humans is the force of human suffering so the connection is seemingly meaningless.
