why do we have homeroom?

Homeroom is kind of like a class except you don't have to learn anything. It's where you have to check in when school starts, so that the school knows you're there and won't mark you absent. ( That goes onto you're report card when you're late, it counts too. It's important if you want a good citizen ship grade.). They also tell you announcements about the things that are going to happen. For example, school events, different schedules, sport tryouts.

For education in school to be effective, the environment needs to be conducive to learning, allowing the students space and time to interact within the learning and teaching process. Creating and maintaining learning environments can be achieved through effective classroom organisation, interactive and whole school displays and a climate of innovation.

We should also Come to class well-prepared. Be sure to bring any materials that you will need for class, including paper, pens, pencils and your textbook. If your teacher asks you to bring something specific to class, be sure to bring the item to class . Make sure you have it before or during homeroom.

Remain quiet during class unless your teacher gives you permission to talk. If you wish to talk during class, simply raise your hand and wait for your teacher to call on you. Never just call out answers or questions during class because you can disrupt the flow of the lesson.

Stay in your seat during class. Raise your hand and ask your teacher for permission if you need to leave your seat for any reason. Once given permission to leave your seat, exit your seat or the classroom quietly causing as little disruption as possible.

Lastly, Show your teacher respect. Listen to your teacher when he is talking and follow all directions your teacher gives you. Unless told otherwise which is very unlikely.Since homeroom is very similar to a classroom you should behave as you would in a classroom.
