The answer is yes. An example which will support my contention is that of the tip

of the minute-hand on an old-fashioned 'analog' clock. In the course of one hour's

time, the tip of the minute hand traverses a distance equal to the circumference of

the clock-face, but its displacement over the period of an hour is zero.
