White
When light shines on a yellow paper it passes through the paper and becomes yellow as the contrast of the paper is yellow hence the yellow color of the paper absorbs the light given and converts it into a yellow light.
A sheet of red paper will look black when illuminated with green light. This is because red paper absorbs green light, preventing any reflection of light that would allow us to see the red color.
White light is made up of all the colors. If a paper is white, it is reflecting all the colors of light. We know that the color of an object is determined by the color(s) of light it reflects. If an object is green, for example, it reflects green light and absorbs all other colors.
A red sheet of paper will appear black when illuminated with cyan light, which is the complementary color of red. When the paper is exposed to cyan light, it absorbs all the complementary color wavelengths and reflects none, making it appear black.
Paper will appear to be black under a red light because red light has a long wavelength and is less likely to reflect off the white surface of paper.

Use red light when inspecting M8 or M9 paper at night. Red light will not react with the paper, allowing you to view any color changes accurately without interfering with the chemical reactions that may occur on the paper.
