Nope. Radio waves have a long wavelength, which causes them to carry little energy. For future questions about energy and waves, use the formula E=h(c/lambda). E is the energy of the wave, h is plank's constant, c is the speed of light (3x10^8), and lambda is the frequency. Have fun! ^_^

No microwaves have more energy,

Radio waves vary have a frequency of about 108 and microwaves are about 1010 If you work out there energy using e=hv you will find out that Radio waves have a energy of about 6.26x10-26 and microwaves have about 6.26x10-24 which is 100 times larger energy.

The energy of a photon of electromagnetic radiation, such as radio or infrared radiation is related to the frequency of the photon by E=hf, where E is the energy of the photon, h is the Planck constant, and f is the frequency of the photon.

Since infra-red radiation has a higher frequency than radio waves, then a photon of infra-red radiation will have a higher energy.

No, because red radiation is visible light, which has a shorter wavelength than infra red so has slightly more energy

Which one is higher energy gamma waves ultra violet waves microwaves radio waves?

The smaller the wavelength (high frequency), the higher the energy. So gamma has the highest energy, followed by x-rays, UV, visible, infrared, microwaves, radio, in descending order. This is also why green laser-pointers are more expensive than red ones ;)

What is the term for energy that is transferred in the form of rays or waves?

Electromagnetic energy is transferred by waves. This includes radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, x-rays, and more. Waves can also be found in matter, like sound waves or ocean waves. Mechanical waves like these carry energy as well. However, electromagnetic waves do not need matter to travel.

Which has higher frequencies microwaves or visible lights?

Visible light has shorter wavelengths than microwaves. Microwaves, which might be considered the highest energy radio waves, have a longer wavelength (and a lower frequency) than visible light.

Explain why the energy of infrared waves is greater than the energy of radio waves?

The energy of infrared waves is greater than the energy of radio waves. This is because infrared waves has a smaller wavelength compared to radio waves. The smaller the wavelength, the higher the energy.

Would microwaves have a high or low penetrating ability relative to other em waves?

microwaves are more penetrative than gamma rays, UV radiation and visible light, but less so than radio waves.

What kind of electromagnetic wave has a wavelength of 1Cm?

That is infra red. Scroll down to related links and look at "Radio and light waves in a vacuum".

What are infa-red waves used for?

Infrared waves are special waves that helps you get rid of wrinkles.

Why does a radio waves carry less energy than an ultraviolet wave?

From the equation E=hv where h= plank's constant v=frequency and ultraviolet waves has more frequency than radio waves hence ultraviolet waves have more energy.

What is the difference between infrared waves and microwaves?

Microwaves are electromagnetic waves that occur on the EMR (Electromagnetic Radiation) scale above radio/tv waves and below infrared and visible light waves. They are used in cooking devices (microwave oven) and as carrier waves for cell phone and other communication devices. In other words, a "microwave" is a type of electromagnetic radiation (like visible light waves, tv waves and so on), and a "microwave oven" is a cooking device that uses microwaves to heat foods by stimulation of the water molecule. How do radio waves and x rays compare in terms of wavelength and energy?

Radio waves are longer than X-rays and because energy is inversely proportional to wavelength, X-Rays have more energy. The formula is 1.25uevm/wavelength, that is the energy is 1.25 micro electron volt divided by the wavelength in meters.

What takes the most energy to generate microwave or ex ray?

An X ray takes more energy to generate because it is higher frequency (second in shortest wavelength only to gamma rays). Microwaves are just higher frequency radio waves.
