answ2. I'm not sure air resistance is of no value. Some shock absorbers in cars are air based. And an airbed that instantly deformed might be uncomfortable.

And maybe a fan would not move the air if there were no friction.

This is not true, there are many ways that air resistance is a pain, for example, it slows cars down when they are trying to accelerate, hope this starts you off!!
