Rabbits are heterotrophs, meaning that they have to eat food and digest it in order to produce energy. This makes them different from autotrophs, who make their own energy. I really don't know how to better the above answer, but the blunt version is, they eat grass, pellets and etc and just like humans they digest it, thus releasing energy as sugars, vitamins and minerals into the body. its not like rabbits eat guarana to get energy, they just eat their food.

What is a moose metabolism?

Metabolism is the chemical process an organism uses to extract energy from its foodstuff in order to maintain, grow, and reproduce.
