Adult mice in the wild are what are called "opportunistic omnivores"; that is, they will eat a broad range of plant and animal matter depending on its availability. They normally eat seeds, grains, small insects, small vertebrates, and scraps of human food. They have also been observed eating dead animal matter including their own kind.
