Renewable energy such as wind and solar does not always work, the sun does not shine at night and the wind does not always blow. Coal is abundant, and cheap. Oil is needed to power jet planes, diesel locomotives, and gas powered automobiles. Wind, solar, and hydroelectric power can not power a jet plane, a diesel locomotive or gas powered car/truck.
