positive acceleration helps to increase the velocity for positive direction while negative acceleration resists the motion.
Positive acceleration affects motion because upon acceleration the car has moved very quickly forwards and the driver's body was expecting the same still and constant movement. The driver has moved within the car, by force, and has been pressed back into their seat because if you accelerate then the car continues to travel forwards but at a faster speed than before, sending you back into the seat. Your motion has been affected (you have moved backwards) because of the positive acceleration. It is the reverse with negative acceleration. (the driver's body moves forwards/away from the seat because the body is expecting the same constant movement when in fact the car has stopped and so the body moves forwards as it would if the car did not stop. (does that make sense?) Thankfully we have seatbelts which stop us moving further.
So that is how both positive and negative acceleration affects motion.
!
positive acceleration helps to increase the velocity for positive direction while negative acceleration resists the motion.
when the acceleration of the body is positive its mean that its velocity is increasing and the speed of the motion also increases and speed will decrease when acceleration is negative.
Its slowing down (but still moving).

No. The velocity of an object is how fast it is moving as well as the direction of the motion. So when considering one dimension, the velocity can be positive or negative. The speed of the object is simply the magnitude (absolute value, in the case of one dimension) of the velocity, with no direction. Acceleration is the change in velocity and does include direction. So if an object has a positive velocity (in one dimension) and its speed increases, the acceleration is negative. However, if the speed of an object moving the negative direction increases, then the acceleration is negative, because the velocity becomes "more negative."
the frictional motion of a body under negative acceleration is called drift motion.
Acceleration doesn't mean "speeding up". It only means that the speed or direction of motion, or both, are changing. Speeding up is positive acceleration in the direction you're moving. Slowing down is negative acceleration in the direction you're moving, or positive acceleration in the opposite direction.
It can change the direction of motion or it can speed up or slow down an object.

Snowboarding demonstrates speed, velocity, and acceleration. It can also demonstrate a positive or negative value for velocity and acceleration.
Force is equal to mass multiplied by acceleration. Acceleration is change in velocity either positive or negative. Mass is always positive.

well the difference between positive and negative velocity would have to be that if your motion speeds up than you have a positive and when or if your motion slows down then you would have a negative accelerarion!!!!

Take the velocity to be in positive direction. Positive acceleration increases velocity and they are in the same direction. Negative acceleration reduce velocity and they are in opposite direction. It does not matter if the motion in linear or anfular.
Positive acceleration is an increase in velocity in the direction in which motion is being measured.
Yes! In most problems direction needs to be defined as either positive or negative.
the frictional motion of a body under negative acceleration is called drift motion.
