Hello. There are many types of waves, but they all have similar properties. All Waves propagate through a material, or medium, and are created by some initial displacement in this material (ie, a rock thrown into water). The energy from this initial displacement causes the material nearby to also displace, which in turn displaces material near it... which creates a wave of energy propagating outwards. It is important to note that the material may move around as the wave passes, but it is the energy which is propagating outwards, not the material itself.

How does water pass along energy?

Near the ocean surface, there are water particles moving in circular motion as the wave passes. As they all move, they bumb into the next particle making energy pass along.HOPE THIS HELPED ALL OF YOU...

What tropic level has the most energy to pass along?

How does the ribbon move as waves pass by?

The ribbon moves up and down in a rolling motion as waves pass by. This motion is caused by the circular motion of the water particles within the wave that transmit energy along the surface of the water.

What is the difference between active transport and pass transport?

Pass transports require no energy and active requires energy. Osmosis is when it travels through water.

Do gamma rays pass through water?

Yes, gamma rays can pass through water, but some of the energy of the gamma rays will be absorbed or scattered as they interact with the water molecules. The amount of absorption or scattering depends on the energy of the gamma rays and the thickness of the water.

Why do waves need a medium to travel?

Waves need a medium to travel because they rely on the medium's particles to transfer energy from one point to another. In mediums like air, water, or solids, the particles are able to interact and pass energy along through a series of collisions. Without a medium, such as in a vacuum, there are no particles to carry the wave energy, so the wave cannot propagate.

What are the four things cells need to be able to do in order to survive?

Cells need to be able to obtain nutrients for energy, replicate to pass on genetic information, maintain homeostasis to regulate internal conditions, and respond to their environment to adapt and survive.

How do sound waves travel through water, as indicated by the keyword "sound waves travel through water" by ?

Sound waves travel through water by vibrating the water molecules, causing them to bump into each other and pass the sound energy along. This process allows the sound waves to propagate through the water medium.

What shows how much energy is available to pass from one level to the next level?

it is water

The transfer of electrons along a series of proteins releasing energy as they pass is known as an?

The transfer of electrons along a series of proteins releasing energy as they pass is known as an electron transport chain. This process occurs in the inner mitochondrial membrane during cellular respiration, leading to the production of ATP.
