When your mind is renewed, the way you think as the verse above says is changed. And when the way you think changes, your quality of life changes as well. You no longer view things in the same light. For example, if you used to be a pessimistic person, the Holy Spirit leads you to always look at things in a positive manner even in the most serious of storms. Changing your mind or the way you think is not something you can do yourself neither is it something that happens overnight, you have to ask God for help and direction and very often they come in the form of motivational books, preachings, bible study and fellowshiping with God's people. Not conforming to this world (or, not copying the behavior and customs of this world would be for example, controlling your tongue when others are swearing and cursing and thinking about (watching very closely) the things you think about. You don't engage in idle, profitless thoughts and actions but you seek very earnestly to know more about God and He in turn will lead you to know His will for your life which would suprise you when you see what He has in store for you. Finding your way to God and leading a new life in Him is not always going to be easy but it'll forever be worth it.
