Deceleration is merely acceleration in a direction opposite to the original motion. If something isnt moving it cannot be decelerated but if it is moving and the resultant force acts in the opposite direction to motion it will decelerate the object.

What is net effect of a force?

The net effect of a force is the overall result of all forces acting on an object. It determines the object's motion, whether it accelerates, decelerates, or remains in equilibrium. The net effect is calculated by considering both the magnitude and direction of all the forces.

Do things weigh more when moving in elevators?

Yes objects do weigh more whilst moving in elevators. This is due to energy mass equivalence that Einstein detailed through the well-known e=mc2 equation. An object in an elevator is moving and therefore has kinetic energy, which translates into more mass. This increase, however, is extremely minute and not measureable with normal scales (even down to .000001 of a pound) because the mass increase is the amount of energy divided by 8.98755179 × 1016 (the speed of light squared).

Why does gravity affects one who is in an enclosed room?

The earth's gravity affects one who is in an enclosed room because that room is on the earth. It doesn't matter whether you are inside or outside, the earth is so massive in comparison to anything on it, that earth's gravity will affect you wherever you are. This is a good thing, otherwise you would fly off the earth and eventually die.

How does the density affect bouyancy?

Density affects buoyancy by determining whether an object will sink or float in a fluid. An object with a density higher than the fluid it is immersed in will sink, while an object with lower density will float. This is because the buoyant force acting on an object is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object, and density affects how much fluid is displaced.

Does the weight of an object affect whether it sinks or float?

Yes, the weight of an object affects whether it sinks or floats in a fluid. An object will sink if its weight is greater than the buoyant force acting on it, causing it to displace an amount of fluid equal to its weight. Conversely, if the buoyant force is greater than the weight of the object, it will float.

Is acceleration the change of speed and or direction of an object?

These two cases are represented by "positive" acceleration. The opposite cases (slowing down in the positive direction or speeding up in the negative direction) are represented by "negative" acceleration.

How do you get one of the force given the resultant force?

The resultant doesn't tell you anything about the component forces.Often, you can't even tell whether there areany component forces, because the resultant behaves just as if it were the one and onlysingle force present.
