This question could be easily misconstrued. While atomic and nuclear explosion mean the same thing, and all atomic bombs are nuclear bombs, not all nuclear bombs are atomic bombs. They are similar, but different. Research continued after WWII and developed more efficient methods of producing nuclear explosions. H-bombs are very much more powerful that A-bombs were.
