Renewable resources are things that regenerate/replenish over time, such as biomass (trees, crops), water, wind, solar energy, and geothermal energy.

If we overuse water, then we will run out, and plants and animals require hydration to survive.

If we overfish, then the fish can't reproduce at the rate we are fishing, and we will run out of fish.

If we cut down too many trees, we can completely deforest the world, and then many animals and plants will lose their habitats.

But we can't overuse sunshine or wind power. If we use them to generate electricity, and use all the electricity that we produce, that's using, not over-using.

What would happen if the us had fewer resources?

I believe the question refers to the United States. The term "resources" has many categories. It could mean fewer skilled workers as they are a "resource". It could also mean resources in "technology". And it could mean "natural resources".In any area of resources concerning any nation, not just the United States, there would have to be a way of compensating for fewer resources. Generally speaking ( and that is all that I can answer as the question is too broad ) The USA would either have to buy more resources or live without them. In either case the standard of living would drop.
