It depends on what kind of car it is! Most cars burn chemical fuel, so chemical energy goes in, and the useful energy which comes out is kinetic(movement) energy. Waste energy includes heat and sound. Of course some of the energy is converted to electricity for the instruments, and some of that is used to recharge the battery so that is converted back to chemical energy in the battery, and some of it may be converted to light in the headlamps.

A solar car has light going in and, eventually kinetic coming out.

What are the physics principles involved when a car goes over a hill?

When a car goes over a hill, the physics principles involved include potential energy, kinetic energy, and centripetal force. As the car goes up the hill, potential energy increases due to its height. At the top of the hill, this potential energy is converted into kinetic energy as the car accelerates downward. Centripetal force keeps the car moving in a curved path as it goes over the hill.

Why buy a car that uses fuel?

The pragmatic reason is: Because there are no cars for sale that don't use fuel. Any car you buy will need fuel. The scientific reason is: Because a car that uses no fuel goes nowhere. If you want to move people and stuff from one place to another, it takes energy to do that. If you do it with a horse, then you have to put energy into the horse before you can take it out of the horse. And if you want to do it with a car, then you have to put energy into the car before the car has energy to move things with. The energy comes from the fuel you put into the car.

Which type of energy is the mechanical energy of the car converted?

Most of it will be converted to heat, via friction.
