Laser is concentrated light like a reflector only parallell, infrared light is a part of the light spectrum (like blue, red, ultraviolet...).
The comparison in question is similar to comparing apples to Oranges as the first is the arrangement of rays (similar to bulb light vs. focused reflector) and the latter is the wawelength (red light vs. blue light).
natural light moves in beams of different wavelengths but a laser has only one wavelength.
Red light is a higher frequency than heat (infrared).

Neither is nesesarily longer a wave can go on forever. Visible light is more reflective than infared light so it will last longer. If you are talking about wavelength, infared lights wavelength is longer.
